The Dare

The Dare is the stage name of Harrison Patrick Smith, an American singer and producer from Los Angeles, born in 1996. He is associated with electroclash and new rave, and is also described as working in electronic, electropop and indie sleaze.

Career

Before using the name The Dare, Smith performs indie music as Turtlenecked in the Pacific Northwest. He later moves to New York City and adopts the new name. He becomes more widely known with the single “Girls” in 2022.

His debut EP, The Sex EP, appears in 2023. In 2024, he releases his first studio album, What’s Wrong with New York?. In the same period, he also produces Charli XCX’s song “Guess” from the album BRAT.
