The Cropdusters
The Cropdusters are a group from the United Kingdom, originally formed in Lymington, Hampshire, in 1986. They play a Hoedown/Punk style that brings together country-influenced and punk elements. Within two years of forming, they build a following in the UK and across Europe.
Releases and live activity
In 1988 they release a three-track EP, Banjo Hill, and tour nationally to support it. Their first album, If The Sober Go To Heaven.., follows in 1989. That year they also play a headline set on the second stage at Reading Festival. In 1992 they release Home Grown Agent Orange, an album that shifts towards more guitar and less fiddle.
Career and members
By the early 1990s they are popular on the European festival circuit. The group then begins to lose momentum and splits in 1994. They later reform, but without two original members: fiddle player Cobert “Cob” Cook, who dies in 2005, and drummer Bill Haley, who dies in 1991.
The line-up listed includes Shaun Morris on vocals, Marcus Stott on guitar and vocals, Roger Figgures on guitar, Michael Case on bass, Cobert “Cob” Cook on fiddle, Bill Haley on drums, and Krishna Stott on drums.
