The Chairman is the recording name used by Sam Deere, a beats, electronica, glitch hop and instrumental hip hop producer from Adelaide, Australia. He works in an eclectic electronic style that draws on a wide range of influences, including Amon Tobin, DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares, The Mars Volta and Massive Attack.

He releases all of his music under a Creative Commons licence and encourages the use of file-sharing systems such as BitTorrent to distribute it. He also appears as a producer on Music by Isis Rising.
