The Cassandra Complex
The Cassandra Complex is an electronic rock group from Leeds, United Kingdom, formed in 1984 by Rodney Orpheus and Paul Dillon. The band remains active and is associated with electronic body music, electronic, industrial and martial industrial, while its wider sound also includes post-punk, goth rock, new wave and synthpop elements.
Early years and style
The group releases its first single in the year it forms. Its music develops around electronic rock, with a mix of EBM, industrial and goth-influenced material, alongside new wave and synthpop touches.
Line-ups and activity
In 2007, the band performs several shows in Europe and South America with its original line-up of Rodney Orpheus, Paul Dillon and Andy Booth, joined by Volker Zacharias of Girls Under Glass. The members listed for the group also include Patrick Gordon, Jürgen Jansen, Robert Wilcocks, Jez Willis, Volker Zacharias and John Galvin.
Live release
The band’s WGT Festival performance in Leipzig is set to be issued as the live album A Thousand Points of Light.
