The Carrivick Sisters

The Carrivick Sisters are a twin-sister duo from South Devon, England, made up of Charlotte Carrivick and Laura Carrivick. They perform original songs rooted in local stories, legends and folklore, and combine that material with American bluegrass and old-time music. Their arrangements use bluegrass instrumentation, especially guitar, mandolin, dobro and fiddle, alongside vocal harmonies, and both members write songs.

Career

They begin performing together in 2006 and turn professional in 2007. In 2010, they are finalists for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.

Recordings

Their album From the Fields is produced by Josh Rusby. A later album, Over the Edge, appears in 2013 and features Blair Dunlop on harmony vocals; it is also produced by Josh Rusby. Their live album 10 Years Live appears in 2017.
