The Caezars

The Caezars are a rock and roll group formed in late August 2009. They play fresh, raw and slightly obscure rock’n’roll, with a sound rooted in late 1950s and early 1960s rock’n’roll and associated with the rockabilly circuit.

History

The band starts with AJ and Dan, then quickly expands with Mikey on drums and Steve on bass. Mikey joins after being discovered in the neighbourhood, while Steve joins after AJ remembers him as a bassist seen at the Rave. The group is pieced together in a small wooden outhouse known as “Moose Lodge”.

Performances and activity

After early gigs in Portsmouth and at the Brighton Rumble Rockabilly Club, The Caezars build a following and play shows across the UK and in Europe. They remain active from 2009 onwards.

Style

Their music is described as “Hep Cat Bop For Rhythm Junkies”, and they are associated with rockabilly, rock and roll, garage, hep cat and hep.
