The Burns Unit
The Burns Unit is a UK group associated with folk and indie pop. It is a Scottish-Canadian super-group that forms in 2006 and brings together King Creosote, Emma Pollock, Future Pilot AKA, Karine Polwart, Kim Edgar, Mattie Foulds, Michael Johnston and MC Soom T. The group releases one album, Side Show, in August 2010.

The project centres on a large rotating-feeling collective rather than a conventional fixed band, with King Creosote and Emma Pollock among its members. Its repertoire is linked to Scottish songwriting and indie pop, with the group description emphasising its collaborative nature.
Other act with the same name
There is also a British band based in Brighton using the same name. That version supports The Pipettes and The Poppycocks and appears at the Bleeding Hearts Club in Brighton. It self-releases one album, Rock Bottom, in 2008, recorded in Wales with Drift Records in-house producer Stephen Grainger.
