The Balkan Wanderers

The Balkan Wanderers are an Oxford-based group active since 2013. They play a Balkan-influenced mix of folk, punk and ska, and their music draws on traditional Balkan, Gypsy and Klezmer styles alongside the contemporary punk-ska scene.

Line-up

The group consists of singer Antica Culina, who is from Croatia; Stuart Wigby on guitar and vocals; Clare Heaviside on clarinet; Marc Witte, who is from Germany, on bass; and Emma Coombs on drums.

Style and language

The band writes original songs that combine Eastern European and Western influences. Their material often mixes English and Croatian lyrics and styles.
