The Australian Pink Floyd Show is an Australian Pink Floyd tribute band that forms in Adelaide and starts in 1988. It works in progressive rock and psychedelic rock, and it is associated with performances that closely reproduce Pink Floyd concerts.

Background and performance style

The group is known for recreating details of Pink Floyd's stage setup and sound. Accounts of its performances include the claim that it reproduces David Gilmour's guitar equipment, including a rare box used to create the whale sounds in Echoes. It is said that only four examples of that device exist, with the others owned by Gilmour.

Notable appearances

The Australian Pink Floyd Show performs at David Gilmour's 50th birthday celebration in 1996. In 2001 it appears at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where it is joined by the choir from Islington Green School for Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2); Roger Waters is reported to attend that performance. In 2008 the group begins touring a full production of The Wall.
