The Arlenes

The Arlenes are a country group from London, United Kingdom, made up of Big Steve Arlene. They begin as an Anglo-American husband and wife act, with Stephanie and Steve meeting in a North London pub, where he is playing his first solo show. She later sings harmony with him at his North London apartment, and the pair go on to perform and record together.

The duo tour and record, and sign to an indie label. Their work also reaches television and film, and they appear on the Rough Guide to Americana compilation. They record a number of albums, videos and singles, including “Spring Board”, a song about outdoor swimming and Gospel Oak Lido.
