The Arcadian Kicks
The Arcadian Kicks are an indie band from Birmingham, UK. They host their own club nights in the city and tour extensively across the country. Their sound develops from indie and rock roots into a mix of shimmering, ethereal melodies, wailing soundscapes and a steady rhythm section, with lyrics described as direct and emotionally restrained. Their influences range from Fleetwood Mac, My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth to newer bands such as The Horrors and The Naked and Famous.
The band work and record with producer Mike Chapman, who is known for Blondie’s classic albums. That partnership leads to two unusual studio sessions and music that marks a clear shift in their style. “You Play The Girl” appears as a free download.
