Thank Abba for the music

Thank Abba for the music is the name of a 1999 medley built from songs originally released by ABBA, the Swedish pop group from Stockholm active from 1972 to 2022. ABBA comprises Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Frida and Björn Ulvaeus, and their music spans disco, euro-disco, europop, glam rock, mainstream rock and pop. The medley is performed by Tina Cousins, Billie, Steps, Cleopatra and B*Witched.

Release and chart performance

The medley reaches number 4 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1999. It first appears during the 1999 Brit Awards, and its release coincides with the debut of the ABBA musical Mamma Mia!.

The medley combines “Take a Chance on Me”, “Dancing Queen”, “Mamma Mia” and “Thank You for the Music”. It is issued in several versions, including a radio edit, a TTW 12" remix and a karaoke version.
