Texas Hippie Coalition are a heavy metal group from Denison, United States, active from 2004. Their sound is described as a blend of heavy metal, southern rock and stoner rock, and they are also associated with southern metal, groove metal, thrash metal and red dirt metal. The band is led by Big Dad Ritch, who fronts what is presented as a group built around bikers, outlaws, troubadours and hellraisers.

Career

The band releases a run of albums across several years and plays frequent club shows as well as large festival appearances. Their performances include sets at Rockstar Mayhem, where they are noted for strong live shows. Their sixth album is High in the Saddle, which follows Dark Side of Black, a release that reaches No. 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

Recording and collaborators

High in the Saddle is the band’s second collaboration with producer Bob Marlette, who also works with Black Stone Cherry and Rob Zombie. The record continues the group’s emphasis on riffs, hooks and hard-driving rock songs.
