Terra Nine

Terra Nine is a New Zealand downtempo and electronic group centred on Michael Westcot. The project uses electric viola alongside digital and analogue technologies, and is known for a sound that moves between chilled ambience, breaks and freer, more open-ended forms. Its music develops from hard tech-trance into breaks and chilled downbeat.

Releases

Between 1997 and 2002, Terra Nine releases the albums Planet of Choice on Assemblage Records, Paranormal on Air Recordings, and Zero Point on Assemblage/Tempest. A remix EP, Axiom, appears on Tempest Recordings between 2002 and 2004 and features The Omm Squad, Arcane Trickster, Rip Van Hippy and The Random Designers. A later album, Strange Craft, appears on Tempest Recordings and is distributed through Arabesque; it includes all-new original tracks and remixes by Arcane Trickster and Sideliner.
