Temp

Temp is a Los Angeles-based music project formed by singer-songwriter Daniel Au and laptop DJ/producer Lucas Kuzma. Au comes from Texas and is raised on rock, roll, folk and funk. Before Temp, he performs as a solo singer-songwriter and collaborates with the live electronic trio Dan Dan Ten. Kuzma spends several years working as a laptop solo performer and in bi-weekly sessions with the experimental jazz group Connector before leaving San Francisco to study Media Art in Los Angeles.

The pair meet through UCLA’s design programme and begin producing Temp. Au’s guitar work and Kuzma’s synthesis shape the group’s sound, with studio contributions from players linked to UCLA’s ethnomusicology school adding acoustic texture. Temp releases the C'est La Vie EP through CD Baby and other major online digital distributors. The project ends in 2007.

Claus Muzak is also associated with the Philtre Music label.
