Teki Latex

Teki Latex is a Paris-born French rapper and singer, born Julien Pradeyrol in 1978. He is a member of TTC and is also associated with other French hip-hop and electro projects, including L’Armée des 12, L’Atelier and Psychotron. His work sits in french electro and hip hop, and he is linked with the Paris scene as well as with Italian family origins.

TTC

He co-forms TTC with Tido Berman and his cousin Cuizinier, after earlier working with Tido Berman in Bladazz. With TTC, he records and performs across EPs, mixtapes and albums. The group releases Ceci n'est pas un disque in 2002 and Bâtards Sensibles in 2004 on Big Dada, the Ninja Tune imprint, followed by 3615 TTC on V2 Records. Bâtards Sensibles receives a nomination at the 2005 Victoires de la Musique in the album rap/hip-hop/rnb category.

Collaborations and side projects

Teki Latex takes part in a wide range of collaborations in the French independent hip-hop scene, where he is considered one of its leading figures. One of the main projects is L’Armée des 12, a collective bringing together TTC, La Caution and Saphir. Its album Cadavre Exquis appears in 2002 on Kerozen, the label run by La Caution.

Another key project is L’Atelier, featuring Teki Latex with Fuzati, Cyanure and James Delleck, with Para One and Tacteel contributing as producers. The project’s album Buffet des anciens élèves leads to the creation of his label Institubes so it can be completed and released. He is also a cofounder of Institubes, a hip-hop and electro independent label, and is later connected with Sound Pellegrino.

Solo work

He also develops a solo career from 2006 with a more pop-oriented direction. After signing to Virgin France, he releases the EP Disco Dance With You, produced by Gonzales and Renaud Létang (VV). He later releases the EP Les Matins de Paris, which features Lio, and works towards a solo album titled Party de Plaisir.
