Teenage Bottlerocket
Teenage Bottlerocket are a pop-punk and punk rock band from Laramie, Wyoming. They form in 2001 after twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle leave their previous band, Homeless Wonders, which breaks up in 2000. The line-up also includes Kody Templeman and Miguel Chen. The band’s sound is strongly shaped by Templeman’s other group, The Lillingtons, and their style is often described as old school pop-punk and ramonescore.
Early releases and recording history
The band releases its debut EP, A Bomb, on the Laramie label One Legged Pup in 2002. Their first album, Another Way, follows on vinyl only through the same label. After touring in 2004, they record Total, which comes out through Red Scare in 2005. They continue touring in support of that record and appear on the Warped Tour before recording Warning Device for Red Scare, which is released in 2008. The video for “In the Basement” appears in late 2007.
Fat Wreck Chords period and later work
In 2009, Teenage Bottlerocket sign with Fat Wreck Chords and release They Came From The Shadows, their fourth album. Tales From Wyoming follows through Rise Records in 2015. After Brandon Carlisle is hospitalized and dies in 2015, the band indicates uncertainty about continuing, then confirms it will carry on with Darren Chewka, formerly of Old Wives, joining the group.
