Team Spirit

Team Spirit is a rock group from Norway. It forms around Ayad Al Adhamy, formerly of Passion Pit, who turns back to guitar after working primarily with synths and starts the project after deciding to return to the instrument. He brings in Roman Tobias Pettigrew, an old college roommate who has also spent time in Los Angeles with a cult-like band called The People’s Church of Animal Town, and then adds Champagne Dave Weingarten as a recording partner. The line-up is completed by Cosmo Di Giulio, formerly of DOM.

The group’s sound draws on Motown-style bass lines, Thin Lizzy-like twin-guitar work, 1990s singalong hooks, glam-rock rhythms and Chuck Berry-inspired energy. The result is described as a mix of garage rock, indie rock and dream-pop elements with a strong emphasis on rock’n’roll performance and movement.
