Talos

Talos is the solo project of Irish indie electronic musician Eoin French, who performs under a name taken from the mythical Talos, the bronze automaton that protects Crete. He is originally from Denver, and is associated with Irish electronic, ambient and soul-influenced music.

Background

French learns piano at the Cork School of Music from the age of six to 12, and begins writing songs a few years later. His musical tastes are shaped by family and friends. He also works as an architect. In his early 20s, he is a member of the band Hush War Cry before starting to perform as Talos in 2013.

Albums and recognition

Talos spends three years making his first album, Wild Alee, which is nominated for the Choice Music Prize. The follow-up, Far Out Dust, is released in 2019. His third album, Dear Chaos, follows in 2022.

Style

His work is known for gossamer electronic beats, tender emotional moods and falsetto-led phrasing.
