Tall Poppies

Tall Poppies are an indie pop group from London, active since 2005. The line-up features Australian twins Susan and Catherine, Diarmuid on violin, and Doug Fink on drums. Fink previously plays in Noah and the Whale.

The band combines melodic indie pop with darker and more imaginative ideas. Their sound is compared with Kate Bush and Camera Obscura, and their influences include The Smiths, David Bowie and Belle and Sebastian.

Tall Poppies work with London-based producer Brian O'Shaughnessy, who produces Primal Scream's Screamadelica, and Paul Tipler, whose credits include Elastica, Idlewild, The Horrors and Stereolab. Their album Let's Go Out is the first studio album they record as a four-piece, and it takes its name from the title track.

Let's Go Out centres on seizing the day and making the most of a summer night.
