Take Cover

Take Cover is a Finnish cover band with five members: Matias Dravantti, Petteri Parkkila, Emilia Rinne, Martti Sirkkola and Jyri Tikka. The group forms in Finland and is active as a pop punk and power pop act with emo influences.

Early releases and touring

The band forms in the fall of 2007 and records its debut self-titled EP in the spring after a few months of writing. Jordan Schmidt, who works with All Time Low and Motion City Soundtrack, produces the recording. The EP comes out that September and leads to a first tour with Sing It Loud and You, Me and Everyone We Know.

After touring behind the debut EP in winter and spring of 2009, Take Cover begins work on a second EP, The Last Word, which Jordan Schmidt also produces. A sold-out hometown release show follows, and the band tours again in summer and autumn of 2009 with Quietdrive and The Higher.

Acoustic material and later activity

In winter 2009, Take Cover puts together an acoustic EP titled Waiting in the Moment, made up of both older and newer songs. The release appears online in January 2010 and shows a more stripped-back side of the band while it continues to write full-band material. The group also undertakes multiple Midwest tours and continues to record and release singles.

Shared stages

Take Cover also shares bills with The Fold, William Beckett of The Academy Is..., Danny Stevens of The Audition, Jamestown Story, Reel Big Fish and The Graduate.
