SYV

SYV is a London-based production duo made up of Primo Baker and Thomas Quemby. The project has also been described as a guitar-based rock group connected with musicians from the Norwegian underground bands the Swamp Babies and Det Elektriske Kjøkken, and as a long-running collaborative outfit that emerges through a series of different projects with occasional text and vocal contributions from other artists.

Releases and activity

The duo’s recorded work includes What Must I Do, which appears in 2013, followed by Holding Back, Twice featuring Michael Jai, Looking For Love and MYA. The project works across psychedelic rock and post-jazz.

Line-up and background

Primo Baker is from Hounslow in west London, and Thomas Quemby is from Manton in Rutland. The broader SYV name is also linked to a separate, guitar-led group active since the late 1990s, with membership drawn from the Norwegian underground scene.
