Symphonix

Symphonix is a psychedelic trance duo from Germany, based in Schwerin, made up of brothers Sirko Wötanowski and Stefan Wötanowski. The pair also work under the names DJ Montagu and DJ Golkonda.

Background

The project starts in 1998, when the brothers begin DJing and organising events in northern Germany. They establish Tshitraka, with the first Tshitraka party taking place in a small club in early 1999. That event develops into the Tshitraka Project Open Air Festival, held annually in northern Germany. They also run the indoor party series Amarasya.

Music

Symphonix develop a style described as groovy progressive trance with psychedelic elements, and their wider genre range includes electronic, progressive trance, psychedelic and psytrance. Before producing their own material, they play at events including Indian Spirit, Atmospheres, Antaris, Voov, Two Moons and Arvika. Their first track as Symphonix appears on Midijum Records, and they later release tracks on compilations and releases for Plusquam Records, Millennium Rec, AP Records, Midijum Records, Novatekk Records and Sinn-Tec Records.

Releases and label work

Their debut album appears on Blue Tunes Records. In 2006 they found Blue Tunes Records, beginning with the label release Amarasya Vol. 2. They also compile releases such as Amarasya and Tshitraka Project.

Side project

Symphonix also start the side project True Lies, which focuses on progressive house with electro influences. Releases for this project appear on Blue Tunes, Echoes and Candyflip Records.
