Sweet Revenge

Sweet Revenge is a South Korean female rock band from South Korea, active from 2008 to the present. The group plays pop rock and rock, and is an indie rock act with a strong following in Hongdae, Seoul.

Line-up

The band consists of Kim Mijung, who is the leader and rhythm guitarist; Kim Soyoung, vocalist and lead guitarist; Lee Hwayeon, bassist; and Jang Hyuna, drummer. The group is also known by the nickname “Hongdae SNSD”, which comes from Kim Soyoung’s resemblance to Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation.

Releases and early activity

Sweet Revenge makes its indie debut in 2008. The band’s first gig takes place at Club Freebird on 1 April 2010. It releases two EPs, Blow Out in 2009 and Refresh in 2010, followed by the mini album Rule Breaker in 2011. That release contains four tracks: “Rule Breaker”, “Love Virus”, “Space Monster”, and “Space Monster (intro)”.

All of the tracks on the band’s EPs and album are composed by the members themselves.
