Superego
Superego is a name used by several different acts, including a Hungarian indie rock and power pop group, a Portuguese alternative rock band from Aveiro, a UK alternative rock band, a short-lived Stone Sour moniker, and an improvisation-based podcast. The name also appears in connection with a German rapper.
Hungary
The Hungarian Superego is an indie rock and power pop band. Its line-up includes Péter Ihász on lead vocals and keyboard, Kata Badics on keys, Ákos Sümegi on guitar and background vocals, Dániel Csitke on bass, and Gábor Pajor on percussion.
Portugal
The Portuguese Superego is an alternative rock trio from Aveiro. The group consists of Jorge Cruz on vocals and guitar, Alexandre Mano on bass, and Leandro Silva on drums.
United Kingdom
SuperEgo in the UK is an alternative rock band active between 1999 and 2007. Its line-up includes Oliver Barron on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, James Magee on piano, synths and backing vocals, Ian Sillett on lead guitar, Anthony Derbyshire on bass and backing vocals, and Phil Hobgen on drums. The band releases a track called “The Electra Complex”.
Stone Sour and the podcast
SuperEgo is also used as a short-term moniker by Stone Sour, under which the band releases one demo. In addition, SUPEREGO: Profiles In Self-Obsession is an improvised podcast led by Drs. Matt Gourley, Jeremy Carter, Mark McConville and Paul F. Tompkins. It features guest appearances by Patton Oswalt, Neko Case, John Hodgman, Jason Sudeikis, Greg Proops, Erinn Hayes, Andy Daly, Jen Kirkman, Thomas Lennon and others.
