Supercharger

Supercharger is a garage rock band from San Francisco, United States, active from 1991 to 1993. The group is part of the 1990s US garage rock scene and is the American lo-fi garage punk act of that name.

Line-up

The band forms in San Francisco in 1991 with Greg Lowery on bass and vocals, Darin Raeffelli on guitar and vocals, and Karen Singletary on drums and vocals. Darin Raffaelli is also listed as a member.

Releases and activity

Supercharger self-releases its self-titled debut album in 1991. The album later appears again on Estrus Records in 1997 after its original limited pressing becomes a collectors item. Estrus also releases the band's second album, Goes Way Out, in 1993. That record is the band's last album, and the group breaks up later the same year after a European tour with The Mummies.

The Mummies cover Supercharger's song "Sooprize Package For Mr Mineo". After Supercharger ends, Greg Lowery founds the garage punk label Rip Off Records and performs in bands including The Rip Offs and the Zodiac Killers.
