Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano
Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano are a Dutch house duo from Amsterdam, active since 2009. The group consists of Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, who work together as DJs and producers and describe their sound as deep and funky house. They build their sets and productions around close interaction and a shared approach to house music, and they begin performing together after entering the DJ profession with the aim of focusing seriously on that style.
Early releases and productions
The duo releases its first track, Pina, in May 2008. A month later they follow it with Lift U Up, a club track featuring Melvin Reese and Chappell. They continue with productions including The Desert, which appears on D.O.N.S.’s Kingdome Cuts, and with remixes such as Sander Kleinenberg’s This Is Our Night and Kaskade’s Dynasty.
Events and projects
In February 2010, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano launch their own Amazone Project event at Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. The event draws 5,500 fans and includes an exclusive five-hour set. The accompanying Amazone Project compilation album reaches number 2 in the charts. The project also hosts areas at the Dirty Dutch Indoor event and at the Dirty Dutch VS The World Festival.
Live work
The duo builds a reputation quickly after their first gig together and performs as a DJ act with a strong focus on crowd response. Their schedule includes a debut at the Sensation event in Amsterdam Arena and appearances at the Swedish House Mafia club nights at Pacha Ibiza.
