Suming

Suming is an Ami artist from Taiwan, best known as the vocalist for the aboriginal bands Totem and Echo G.S. He writes songs for other performers, including Landy Wen and Chyi Chin, and works across several creative and cultural fields as a theatrical dancer, amateur painter, bamboo craftsman, and cultural-educational worker for his tribe.

He wins the 2009 Golden Horse Best Newcomer Award for his performance in the short film Hopscotch. He also releases a first solo album written and performed entirely in the Ami language. His music combines electronic pop, traditional chanting, folk rock, and world music, and is described as blending rural roots with an urban sensibility.
