Suboptimal

Suboptimal is a Berlin rock band formed by the Widdowson brothers: twin brothers Mark and Stefan Widdowson on guitar and bass, and their elder brother Simon Widdowson on vocals. The line-up also includes Christoph Bruges on guitar and Marco Teriete on drums. The group is founded as a school project and performs original songs in German.

Style and background

The band is associated with Deutschrock, rock and Deutschpunk. Its name is shared with an unrelated electronic music producer from Melbourne, but the Berlin band is the act described here. The group develops from a school setting and keeps to the principle of writing and performing its own material in German.
