Striker
Striker are a Canadian heavy metal and power metal group from Edmonton, active since 2007. They begin as a speed metal band and form in 2007 by Ian Sandercock and Dan Cleary. By summer 2008 they settle into a consistent lineup and release their first EP, Road Warrior, on Iron Kodex Records.
Their first full-length album, Eyes in the Night, follows in 2010. The band draws on speed metal traditions associated with Canadian acts such as Annihilator, Exciter and Cauldron, alongside European and American speed metal influences. Their early release brings attention strong enough to lead to a planned European tour, with appearances intended for the Keep it True festival in Germany and the Pounding Metal festival in Madrid, although that trip is cancelled because of volcanic activity.
At the time of the debut album, the group includes Dan Cleary on lead vocals, Ian Sandercock and Chris Segger on lead and rhythm guitar, Dave Arnold on bass guitar, and Adam Brown on drums. The band remains active.
