Strike One

Strike One is a funk and soul group associated with the UK dance scene. The act is fronted by singer Sabiha Kara, with Tobi Bakker and Dick Maun on saxophone. Dick Maun is the named member in the verified facts.

Recording and release history

The group records a dance-oriented track called Cant Touch Me Anymore, which becomes a notable club record and is released in the UK on Elite Records. The record is produced by Andy Sojka, who is also known for producing and releasing the first singles by Level 42. In the UK, Cant Touch Me Anymore reaches the top of the dance charts and becomes one of the fastest-selling British 12-inch dance singles.

Later release

The track is reissued in the Netherlands in 1985 on High Fashion Music Records, a dance label connected with the Dutch independent company Dureco and its distribution of Italo disco in the Benelux.

The name Strike One is also used by a separate pop-punk band, but the funk and soul group is the version identified here.
