Strange Attractor

Strange Attractor is a Dutch future-jazz trio from the Netherlands, made up of Niels van Hoorn, Richard van Kruysdijk and Marie-Claudine Vanvlemen. The group forms one of several acts using the same name, and this line-up is the trio associated with the Dutch experimental electronic and jazz project.

Richard van Kruysdijk, known for work with Sonar Lodge and Phallus Dei, and Niels van Hoorn, associated with The Legendary Pink Dots, begin the project in 2004. They record two LPs, Rorschach and Rorschach II, which later appear on CD as Everything Is Closer on SPV / Big Blue in 2006. The project becomes the main focus for the musicians among their other activities.

The group works with a number of guest vocalists and musicians, including Edward Ka-Spel, Winston Tong, David J, Richard Sinclair, Marie-Claudine Vanvlemen, Peter Christopherson and Graham Lewis. In 2006, two promotional European tours lead to headline dates in nine countries, and the group plans another European tour for November 2007.
