Stony

Stony is a Dutch singer originally from Guadeloupe, associated with zouk and also tagged with kizomba, hip-hop, rap and pop. She emerges as a new voice in zouk and describes her work as a tribute to her island and its musical heritage.

Career

Her recording career begins in May 2010, while she is singing in a gospel choir. She meets Moun, who becomes her producer and the manager of BM Music. Their first work together leads to the song “Loin de moi”.

The positive response to that track leads BM Music to develop her further, and she appears on the compilation Zouk 2011 on Wagram Music with “Come back to me”, a duet with Daddy Killa. That song becomes a major breakthrough and helps establish her profile in metropolitan France, the French West Indies, Guyana, Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Her third single, “Mi amor”, follows and brings her the title of Artist of the Year 2011. She then performs widely in France, the French overseas territories, Cameroon and the United States. A concert at La Cigale in Paris is sold out.

Recordings and collaborations

Stony receives a Lokal Award for “Femmes fatales”, a duet with Kim. On 19 December 2011, she releases her debut album My Emotions under the artistic and vocal direction of Dezay. The album focuses on the emotions she experiences in daily life and includes contributions from Marvin, Warren, Ali Angel and Thierry Delannay, as well as collaborations with rapper Mac Tyer and M'Wayne.
