Steve Hughes is the name of more than one artist. One is an instrumental guitarist from Caledonia, Ontario, Canada. He starts playing guitar at 17 and later forms the instrumental rock band nil with his brother, Aaron Hughes. The pair release a demo CD for nil when he is 18. Hughes also works as a supporting musician for other bands and takes part in a range of his own musical projects. He releases a six-track debut EP, Crack in the Sky, and later makes it available as a free download.

Another Steve Hughes is an Australian musician and stand-up comedian. He first becomes known as the drummer for the thrash metal band Slaughter Lord before moving to the UK in 2002 to begin working in stand-up comedy. After appearances at the Edinburgh Festival, he becomes established as a comedian whose material draws heavily on his heavy metal background.
