Stereo Express

Stereo Express is a Belgian house and tech house act from Ghent, Belgium. The project is a DJ and production act associated with Chris Laurens and Jones, and it is described as having begun as a duo before becoming a solo-led project.

Career

Stereo Express starts out as a deejay and then moves into producing original tracks. The project’s sound is shaped by Motown soul and 1980s and 1990s pop, with an approach to house music that emphasises a “sexy” feel. It gains early attention with the release of La Vie En Rose, then reaches a wider breakthrough with Shadoorack and a cover of Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams. These tracks reach number one on Beatport and help establish the act internationally.

The project plays clubs and festivals in various countries, including Mexico and Russia. It also develops a live format with a band setup that includes live percussion, vocals and saxophone, giving the performances a fuller arrangement.

Record labels

Stereo Express releases music on LOVE MATTERS, LIGHT MY FIRE, BURLESQUE MUSIQUE and SHAKER PLATES.
