Stephen Marley is a Jamaican American reggae musician and producer from Wilmington, Jamaica, born in 1972. He is the son of Bob Marley and Rita Marley and is also known as Stephen Robert Nesta Marley. His work spans reggae and soul, and he is associated with roots reggae, dancehall and ragga.

Marley performs solo and is a member of Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers and The Marley Brothers. He spends part of his early career with Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers between the ages of 8 and 20. He also appears with his brothers in family projects, including the Bob Marley Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival tour and the family’s annual Caribbean Festival in Miami.

As a solo artist, his debut album Mind Control appears in 2007, with an acoustic version following in 2009. In 2011 he begins a series of releases under the Revelation title. He wins six Grammy Awards.

Marley also works as a producer for other members of the Marley family. He produces much of Damian Marley’s album Welcome to Jamrock and also works on Julian Marley’s recordings.

His music is described as carrying forward classic reggae while also taking in other sounds and styles, linking older roots traditions with a more contemporary approach.
