Stephen Mallinder is a musician from Sheffield, United Kingdom, born in 1955. He is best known as a member of Cabaret Voltaire, the experimental electronic group with which he remains associated in the record here, and he also appears in a number of other collaborations and projects including The Pressure Company, Acid Horse, Hey, Rube!, Ku-Ling Bros., Sassi and Loco, Wrangler, Amateur Night in the Big Top and Love Street.
Solo work
Mallinder releases solo material as well as group work. His solo discography includes the album Pow-Wow and the 7-inch EP Temperature Drop / Cool Down, both issued on Fetish Records. His work is associated with electronic, experimental electronic, house and techno, reflecting a broad connection to post-punk, avant-garde and industrial music.
Collaborations and projects
Alongside Cabaret Voltaire, Mallinder takes part in several collaborative acts. He is one half of Hey, Rube! and one third of Wrangler, and his other listed projects include The Pressure Company, Acid Horse, Ku-Ling Bros., Sassi and Loco, Amateur Night in the Big Top and Love Street.
