Stephen Fearing
Stephen Fearing is a Canadian folk singer-songwriter from Vancouver, Canada, born in 1963. He is raised in Ireland for a large part of his life, and his songs draw on a strong connection to Canada while remaining rooted in personal folk writing.
Solo work
Fearing releases seven albums up to 2006, beginning with Out to Sea in 1988 and including Yellowjacket. His guitar playing includes a distinctive approach in which he keeps an accompanying beat on the instrument while strumming.
Collaborations and other work
He tours Canada frequently and works with a range of Canadian musicians, including Sarah McLachlan and Colin Linden. Alongside his solo career, he is a member of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.
Awards
Fearing receives five Juno Award nominations.
