Stella Donnelly is a Welsh-Australian indie rock singer-songwriter from Swansea, Australia. Born in 1992, she works in indie rock and singer-songwriter styles, and her songs are also described as lo-fi and fuzzy pop.

Career

Donnelly releases music as a solo artist, and she is also associated with the bands Boat Show and The Fruity Whites. Before her solo work appears, she is part of two bands, including BOAT SHOW and BELL RAPIDS.

Recordings

Her first EP, Thrush Metal, appears in 2017 on Healthy Tapes. The EP is reissued in the United States in 2018 by Secretly Canadian. Her debut album, Beware of the Dogs, follows in 2019 on Secretly Canadian and receives widespread critical praise. Among the responses to the album, Robert Christgau describes it as a “musical encyclopedia of [male] assholes.”
