Steel Panther
Steel Panther are a Los Angeles-based group formed in 2000 and active from 2000 to the present. They work in comedy rock, glam, glam metal, hard rock and heavy metal, and are known for a style that parodies and celebrates 1980s glam metal.
Background
The band begins as Metal Skool, later also using the name Metal Shop, before changing to Steel Panther in 2008. They are founded by former LA Guns vocalist Ralph Saenz, who performs as Michael Starr. The group is based in Los Angeles, California.
Style and live performance
Steel Panther build their act around an energetic live show and are described as the longest-running metal show on the Sunset Strip. Their stage performances combine tributes to 1980s glam metal with satire, and their between-song banter includes jokes about conflict within the band, drugs, sex and improvised crowd interaction.

The lineup includes Michael Starr on vocals, Satchel on guitars and Stix Zadinia on drums. Other listed members include Lexxi Foxx, Joe Lester, Ray Luzier, Michael Diamond and Ralph Saenz.
