Steaming Satellites

Steaming Satellites are an Austrian rock group whose sound combines progressive rock, space rock, psychedelic rock and alternative rock with electronic and synthesiser elements. The band describes its approach as drawing on the force of Led Zeppelin, the scale of Pink Floyd and the writing importance of Bob Dylan, while presenting that heritage in a contemporary form.

History and touring

After a support show with Portugal. the Man in Salzburg in 2008, the band tours with Portugal. the Man on a wider run. In the following years it tours with acts including The Builders and the Butchers, Eagle Seagull and Hello Electric, and it also plays support dates for Thin Lizzy, Monster Magnet, International Noise Conspiracy, Therapy, Oceansize, The Ravonettes and Kashmir among others.

The band also confirms festival appearances for Noise Pollution Festival, On the Rocks Festival, Movida Festival and Wartberg Open Air, along with festivals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It continues to plan touring across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, the US West Coast and Eastern Europe.

Steaming Satellites are made up of Max Borchardt on vocals and guitar, Manfred Mader on guitar, Emanuel Krimplstätter on keys and guitar, Daniel Ziock on bass, and Matl Weber on drums and keys.

Release

The band releases The Mustache Mozart Affaire in 2011.
