Starfish

Starfish are an Austin, Texas indie rock group formed in 1993 and still active. The band includes Scott Marcus and Jason Morales; earlier members include Ronna Era, and the group’s first two drummers are Clifford and Dave, whose names are later used in the song “Clifford/dave”.

Career

Scott Marcus becomes the permanent drummer in 1994. Starfish record three full-length albums on Trance Syndicate, the label run by King Coffey of the Butthole Surfers. Their first album, Stellar Sonic Solutions, is produced by Bob Mould of Hüsker Dü.

The band completes 11 US tours, one Canadian tour and one European tour with the Scottish band Broccoli. That tour ends with bassist Ronna marrying Broccoli guitarist Grant Myles. Jason Morales later plays in Migas.
