Sqy

Sqy, also known as SQY Rocking Team, is a four-piece rock band from the Netherlands and Belgium. The group plays hard-metal, glam-rock and roll-oriented music with roots in 1970s and 1980s rock.

Career and live work

The band has a long live history, with more than 700 performances in the Netherlands and abroad. It is known for energetic stage shows and has a 16-year career across the period described in the available information.

Sqy plays festivals including Bospop in 2005 and Arrow Rock Festival in 2006. It also supports and shares stages with a wide range of international and Dutch acts, including Deep Purple, Europe, Tyketto, Van Dik Hout, DIO, Status Quo, GUN, Skik, Y&T, Golden Earring, Mental Hippie Blood, Prodigal Sons, Motörhead, UFO, Tygers of Pan Tang, Raging Slab, Erocktica, Girlschool, Shootyz Groove, The Sweet, White Cowbell Oklahoma, Tesla, Rainbow, Uriah Heep and Whitesnake.

Recordings

The band’s fourth full-length album, Full Throttle, receives a strong response and brings the group a significant media boost. A later album, Top Fuel Tendencies, continues the same style, combining many guitars with melodic harmonies.

During its 10th UK tour, Sqy presents the song and video Red Room of Fears, a co-production involving Phoenix Music, Heretic Industries and Lighttown Media, with production by Frans Vermast. In 2009, it releases the song Over the Edge on a USBracelet, a format that includes the single and extra features.

Current activity

The band is also recorded as working in the studio on a new album.
