Sports

Sports is a United States-based group active since 2007, made up of Nick Hook, Daryl Palumbo and Crazy Glue. The project is a New York-based DJ and production team, and it presents itself under the name SPORTS in some releases and descriptions.

Early releases

The group first appears with the 2015 single “You Are The Right One,” a funk-leaning track with a slow, stripped-back feel. In the same period, it releases the debut project Naked All The Time in 2015, followed by People Can’t Stop Chillin in 2016. That second release includes singles such as “Panama,” “Whatever You Want,” and “Someone You’d Rather Be Dating.”

Full-length album and reception

In 2018, Sports returns with its first full-length album, Everyone’s Invited. The record receives attention from Pitchfork, Pigeons & Planes and Ones To Watch, and it also gets airplay on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic and placement on Spotify’s New Indie Mix playlist.

Style and profile

The project is associated with independent and DIY working methods, and its catalogue has accumulated more than 100 million streams. The name Sports is also used by several unrelated acts, including artists from Canada, Japan, Seattle, Little Rock, Vancouver, Purchase, New York, Kansas City, England and Maine.
