Spacey Jane

Spacey Jane is an indie pop band from Perth, Western Australia, active since 2016. The group forms around Caleb Harper and Kieran Lama, who revive their teenage interest in making music and begin the band with that aim. Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu and Meils join through university friendships, and the lineup later includes Peppa Lane, Amelia Murray and Nick Ireland.

Early development and releases

The band’s first show takes place in Caleb Harper’s backyard. Their early material includes No Way To Treat An Animal, a first release made up of songs that have already been part of their live set since the start of the group. In The Meantime follows and marks a change in the band’s songwriting and production, with a sharper, cleaner and more mature sound.

Live activity and influences

Spacey Jane plays alongside acts including Car Seat Headrest, Alex Lahey, British India and The Stems. They also appear at Wave Rock Weekender, Gizzfest 2017 and Falls Downtown, and they are announced for SOTA Festival at Elizabeth Quay in June 2018. Their music draws influence from The Smiths, Car Seat Headrest and Pavement.
