Southern Tenant Folk Union are a folk and bluegrass group based in Edinburgh and active since 2006. The group forms around Pat McGarvey, who previously plays in The Coal Porters.

They release four albums in their first few years: Southern Tenant Folk Union, Revivals, Rituals And Union Songs, The New Farming Scene and Pencaitland. Their music attracts a strong following among roots music fans and journalists, and their style sits across folk, americana, country, bluegrass and Scottish traditions.
