Southbound

Southbound is a name used by several different acts in different genres and places. One version is a mid-1970s band from North Carolina featuring Lou Reid on banjo, Jimmy Haley on guitar and vocals, Dennis Severt on mandolin and vocals, Louis Pyrtle on banjo and fiddle, and Doug Campbell on bass and vocals. Doyle Lawson produces that recording for Rebel Records, and the group also records a second project that is never released.

Another Southbound is a hip hop duo from Austin, Texas, made up of twin brothers Sandman and Lowkey. A further act by the same name is a jazz group in London, UK, with Jack Davies on trumpet, Rob Cope on tenor saxophone, Tom Taylor on piano, and Jon Ormston on drums.

The name is also used by a rock band from São Paulo, Brazil, whose line-up includes Otavio Cintra on bass and vocals, Luca Magli on guitar, Mariana Carvalho on keyboards, and Eduardo Freitas on drums. A metal band from New Mexico also performs as Southbound, with Mitch Palacio on vocals and guitar, Marcos Majaloa on guitar, Oliver Main on bass, and James Main on percussion.
