Sons of Solomon

Sons of Solomon is a Belgian new wave group from Merksem, active since 1987. The band is identified with heavy metal in the festival listing tags, while the available bio text describes a later line-up and musical activity in a reggae and jam-band setting based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The group originally forms as a four-piece and later expands and changes line-up over time.

Line-up and roles

Lead vocals are shared by brothers Ryan “Nyaman” Childs and Roy “Gbiv” Childs. Ryan also plays percussion, while Roy also plays guitar. “Slam” Stewart plays drums, Becky Collier plays keyboards, and Justin Beggs handles additional percussion on hand drums. The rhythm section includes two bass players, Adam Doberly and Dave Guzman. John Smoot also plays saxophone regularly with the band. All of the members contribute backing vocals.

Activity

The group continues as an active act and records new material while playing live shows.
