Sons of Liberty

Sons of Liberty is a United States group centred on Jon Schaffer, who is the only listed member. It begins as a 2009 solo project from Schaffer, who is also the founder of Iced Earth, and the project is made available through the Sons of Liberty website as a free download.

Project and release

The project is announced in December 2009 through the Iced Earth website. Schaffer describes it as part of a wider movement and says the associated website is intended to function as a think-tank with web links, book and film recommendations, and other material. He presents it as a message-led project and says he hopes it encourages listeners to think further about the issues it raises.

The project records Brush-fires of the Mind, an album associated with the Sons of Liberty name and offered for free download on the project website.
