Sonny

Sonny is the solo name used by Sonny Moore, an American vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who is also known as Skrillex and who is the lead vocalist of the post-hardcore band From First to Last. Under the Sonny name, he releases solo material after leaving From First to Last to focus on an individual career.

Solo releases

After starting a Myspace page, Sonny releases three tracks: “Signal”, “Equinox” and “Glow Worm”. He then issues Gypsyhook, a digital EP released in 2009, which includes three songs, four remixes and a Japanese version of “Mora” titled “海水” (“Kaisui”). Physical copies of the EP are available at his shows. A debut album titled Bells is planned for 2011 but is shelved and never released.

Style and identity

The name Sonny refers here to Sonny Moore’s solo project rather than the other artists who use the same name. He is associated with electronic and pop-influenced work, and is also described as a techno DJ.
